If I click on 'Plugins' I can see 'CLR Host Plugin' listed, but I cant add a CLR Browser source. I have tried both the 32bit and 64bit versions of OBS and the plugin, but neither have worked. Here's a GIF of my first OBS plugin, which loads the latest posts of my dev.to profile in case someone wants to read one of my publications after the stream finishes:Īfter building my first plugin and seeing that this stack rocks, I have created a repository that you can use as a template to develop obs plugins with this stack: HorusGoul/preact-obs-plugin. I downloaded the latest from here and installed it according to the directions, but I dont have the CLR Browser option when I try to add a source in OBS. I believe that this stack rocks for this use case because it doesn't require a build step, just go ahead and use the platform! Once I got to know about this, I decided to use Preact with HTM and plain CSS as the stack to build my plugins. This type of source allows you to use an internal browser that supports modern web capabilities, just point it to an URL or a local HTML file and start building a dynamic experience for your viewers!
CLR BROWSER SOURCE PLUGIN NOT SHOWING UP IN OBS STUDIO DOWNLOAD
Make sure you did download the 32-bit version of the CLR browser plugin, as it needs to be the same as OBS. The name should appear as NDIHX (Your camera name). There's no problem with running 32-bit OBS on a 64-bit windows. When the Properties screen appears select the pull-down menu for Source name and select your NDI camera. Name your NDI Source, make sure the Make source visible box is checked, and click OK. I found out that OBS plugins can be written in C++, but that's overkill! Then I thought that maybe there's another way using web technologies (HTML, CSS, and JS), that's when I discovered the Browser source. Click + to add a new source in the Sources window. It involves using the Window Capture source option in OBS and cropping your Spotify window so that it only shows what song is currently playing. But after investigating alot I came to the conclusion that I'm out of options. It's great for notifications but not so great for what I'm trying to do. This plugin only allows to rezise the window and add a URL from where it'll take information from. This is the easiest method of the three and won’t require any 3rd party applications. I'm trying to show a hangouts call on my twitch stream using a OBS plugin called CLR browser. I developed a bot for one of the forums I visit regularly and it was a great experience, a lot of people visited the streaming and the big majority stayed for a while.īecause of that, I have been looking for ways to improve the experience of my live coding sessions and then I thought that one of these ways could be creating my own plugins for OBS (Open Broadcaster Software). Now let’s get into the 3 methods for showing Spotify on OBS.
A few days ago, I decided to give a try to live coding on Twitch.
